2.x, Translate Plugin?: how to turn off EN FR on fields in backend?

For some reason I’m getting fields in the backend that have an option to switch between EN and FR. I don’t need this capability so would like to disable that. I assume this is functionality related to the Translate plugin?

Fields that render like this have class names with ‘multilingual’ in them,. e.g.: field-multilingual field-multilingual-text dropdown

I’m using October version 2.x

If it helps: This option has been removed in the latest code, and replaced by a global language switcher.
