Please help us prioritize the Backup and E-commerce features

We are considering adding two new features to the platform. Please help us prioritize them! You can post your feedback on the Portal cards using the links below.

Backup

The Backup feature will automatically save copies of your entire site, including the database, CMS templates, Tailor blueprints, uploaded files, and media files - locally or in a secure, offsite location like AWS S3.

E-commerce

A full-featured e-commerce solution for October CMS. This solution will include everything that you can find in a typical e-commerce platform, but implemented in the October CMS way, meaning that it will be better and simpler.

Thanks.

@alexey.bobkov well. We have prioritze and test. It was suppose to be in market last year (ca. May) but we never heard of it again. So we went for the OCMALL. may be is there a concrete timeline for the ecommerce?

Both features are valuable, but prioritizing E-commerce website development would be a game-changer for October CMS users. A full-featured e-commerce solution tailored to the platform’s unique approach will provide businesses with a seamless way to build and manage online stores efficiently. Given the growing demand for e-commerce capabilities, this feature could significantly enhance the platform’s appeal, making it more competitive with other CMS options. While the Backup feature is essential for security and peace of mind, a robust e-commerce solution directly impacts revenue generation and user engagement, making it a top priority.

Hi @alexey.bobkov.
I too have been waiting for the e-commerce solution since mid-last year, eagerly checking the updates for its announcement - I take it from this post it is not close to release?

In answer to your question, please prioritise the e-commerce module. A timeline would also be greatly appreciated.

As always, thank you for OctoberCMS and the work you put into it.

The eCommerce features have been delayed due to the Laravel 12 upgrade path which was just released. This is a intentional delay so that eCommerce can be supported on OCMS v4 and not be required to support OCMS v3 which would technically function as two products.

I hope this helps.
