Re-build a docker container of an existing project

I saw, that the october CMS docker image has no Interactive Bash Script for macOS anymore.

How can I re-build a docker container of an existing project, where the docker container was lost?

Hey @maki3000

Try running this :crossed_fingers:

bash -c "$(curl https://octobercms.com/api/dockerdevinstaller)"

When I runbash -c "$(curl https://octobercms.com/api/dockerdevinstaller)", then I get following error:

Creating the container...
Unable to find image 'octobercms/october-dev:latest' locally
latest: Pulling from octobercms/october-dev
docker: no matching manifest for linux/arm64/v8 in the manifest list entries

You could try this:

export DOCKER_DEFAULT_PLATFORM=linux/amd64
bash -c "$(curl https://octobercms.com/api/dockerdevinstaller)"

That setting is only temporary for your current terminal session, so it’s safe to give it a try.

With export DOCKER_DEFAULT_PLATFORM=linux/amd64 the image and the container is pulled, but the installation gets stuck at:

What's next:
View a summary of image vulnerabilities and recommendations β†’ docker scout quickview octobercms/october-dev:latest

Configuring the container. It can take several minutes.

In the container log is:

Migrating Application and Plugins
a/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)'

How can I fix this?

So I would check the database settings in .env , especially:

DB_HOST=
DB_DATABASE=
DB_USERNAME=
DB_PASSWORD=

Then clear the config cache and retry:

php artisan config:clear
php artisan october:migrate

using password: NO strongly suggests the password is empty or not being loaded.

Did you load the correct credentials for MySQL?
