Store Credit Now Available in the Pay Plugin

Thanks to everyone who has purchased a license for Meloncart. We’ve just added store credit support to the Responsiv.Pay plugin, fully integrated with Meloncart.

Store credit lets your customers accumulate a balance that can be applied toward future purchases. It works seamlessly at checkout: customers can apply their available credit to reduce the payment amount, or cover the entire order if their balance is sufficient.

Enabling Store Credit

Navigate to Settings → Payment Settings and enable the Store Credit option. Once enabled:

  • Customers see their available balance at checkout and can apply it to their order
  • A Credit tab appears on customer records in the admin panel for managing balances
  • The invoice refund popup includes an option to issue refunds as store credit

Key Features

  • Flexible checkout — Credit can partially or fully cover an order. If credit doesn’t cover the full amount, the remainder is charged to the payment gateway as normal.
  • Admin adjustments — Issue credit to any customer from their Credit tab, with a full ledger history of all credits and debits.
  • Refund to credit — When marking an invoice as refunded, you can issue the refund as store credit instead of processing it through the payment gateway.
  • Multi-currency — Credit balances are currency-specific, so stores operating in multiple currencies are fully supported.

I’m glad we have Pay plugin as a separate module, it means we don’t have to make another plugin for it.
