Update october cms 471 to v3.xxx

A stupid question here.

A customer have october cms build version 471. In composer.json the ocotber/rain is at 1.1.xxx version.

Is it possible to update this?

I know the version is 1.1.xxx but build version make some confusions.

I don’t think this will be automatic (Composer) update, here’s what changed: Upgrading OctoberCMS v1→3 - Google Docs

I don’t mean automatic updates via gateway. But more general ways.

My confusion arises with the build number because i couldn’t find info anywhere.

Wherever you start (1.0.xxx+Marketplace or 1.1.x+Composer) you’ll need to install v2 in a subfolder and sync it with v1 root as described in linked document.
